Late-Night Interview: Louisa Hardwick: VR for Disabled People, Positives and Negatives of VR in Disability, You Are the Zoo Keeper of your PhD, and More...

Feb 15, 2023 01:01:57

Students and Graduates! Happy new year 2023, and I kickoff PhD Lounge into the new year with a Late-Night Interview! Louisa Hardwick is a PhD student based at Swansea University in Tourism within a Business Management context, researching Virtual Reality (VR) for people with limited physical mobility. Louisa's passion for travelling and background with disabled people led her to explore a gap in VR and how it should suit people with limited physical movement, and who cannot have the chance to travel to a country they wished. With VR, Louisa's ambition is to change the paradigm of this new reality which is becoming more popular for the newest generations, but also for older ones! The chosen case studies for Louisa's research were Machu Picchu, Kenya and Borneo To know more about Louisa's research, check her Twitter: @louisabhardwick Thank you all for tuning in, it has been a pleasure! Side note: In the introduction of the session, I forgot to mention Machu Picchu, and only mentioned Kenya and Borneo, my apologies for that mistake.
